The History of Our Company

The Herzak Agency was founded in 1954 by the late Michael Herzak Jr., in Cleveland, Ohio. This agency first represented the Motorists Insurance Group headquartered in Columbus, Ohio. Ultimately, the agency became Insurance Systems Agency, Inc. in 1999.

Insurance Systems then acquired The Beardsley Agency in January of 1991. The Beardsley Agency, in Warren, Ohio, was founded in 1935. This agency was a charter agency for what is now known as Grange Insurance Companies in Columbus, Ohio. The Beardsley Agency grew to be one of the largest agencies within Grange Insurance Companies.

With the purchase of the Beardsley Agency, these two formed one of the largest independent agencies in northeast Ohio, and remain one of the largest to this day. As an independent agency, we represent some of the finest insurance companies around, both regionally and nationally. We have the ability to find a qualified program at an affordable price from many of our carriers, to suit the needs of the client.

Our scope of operations includes commercial and personal insurance, as well as life, benefits, bonds, financial services, and even banking. Many of our clients need a multitude of services, in which Insurance Systems can be that provider for them.
